National Nutrition Month: Nourishing to flourish, together

What we eat and how we move shape our health, but understanding how takes hundreds of thousands of people, over time.

This March, Nutrition Month in Canada—led by Dietitians of Canada—is all about nourishing to flourish: recognizing how food supports not just our physical health, but also our mental wellbeing, culture, and connection to others.

At CanPath, this idea comes to life through the people who make our research possible.

A woman frying food in the kitchen. Text reads: "At-a-glance: HEAL & CHARM study progress. 7,730 participants, 10,260 diet surveys, 9,359 activity surveys, 58 blood samples, and 19 stool samples."

Through the HEAL study, thousands of participants are helping researchers better understand how we eat, move, and live shapes long-term health. Whether it’s completing 24-hour dietary and activity recalls or filling out questionnaires, each contribution helps create a clearer picture.

And with CHARM now underway, that picture is getting even clearer. By contributing biological samples like blood and stool, participants are helping researchers discover new insights into how nutrition and health are connected at a deeper level that wouldn’t be possible without this large, rich dataset.

This progress is only possible because of you. Every questionnaire completed, every sample shared, every moment you take to participate moves this research forward.

Together, we’re building a clearer understanding of health in Canada and helping shape a healthier future for generations to come.

Keep an eye on your inbox for opportunities to take part in HEAL and CHARM activities.
