  • Operating Grant: Data Analysis Using Existing Databases and Cohorts

    This Healthy Cities Research Initiative funding opportunity will support research using existing data to improve health, wellness, and health equity among urban populations.

    Application deadline: November 8, 2023
    Funds available: $700,000 total for approximately seven (7) grants of up to $100,000 each

  • CIHR Team Grant: Lung Health

    This Team Grant funding opportunity funds interdisciplinary teams addressing ongoing, new and emerging threats to lung health by improving understanding of biological, social, environmental and behavioural effects on lung health. These teams will develop and disseminate evidence-based solutions for better lung health and overall wellness, including a focus on health disparities; equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) analyses; and Indigenous contexts.

    Research Teams are strongly encouraged to leverage existing resources and datasets as much as possible, such as CanPath! Please refer to the report published by CIHR and Genome Canada “Enhancing Canada’s Population Cohort Environment” for related information.

    Application deadline: November 16, 2023
    Funds available: $17,500,000, enough to fund approximately eight (8) Research Team grants. This amount may increase if additional funding partners participate.
    Funding duration: Five years
