13 181 participants de l’Alberta ont rempli un questionnaire sur le régime alimentaire visant à estimer les apports nutritionnels. Par la suite, 25 % des 2 411 aliments réputés différer le plus de leur profil nutritionnel ont été modifiés pour le folate, 11 % pour la vitamine D, 10 % pour le calcium et la riboflavine et 7 à 10 % pour les autres nutriments d’intérêt.
